Manfrotto will support the non-profit organization African Revival taking part in a challenging bike ride through Zambia. From May 20th to 29th 2011 26 cyclists, including Manfrotto UK's Customer Service Manager Ed Spencer (pictured right), will ride from Lusaka to Livingstone raising much needed money for a number of different African Revival projects.

Zambia Bike Challenge is a 500km journey across rich wetlands and scenic splendour, ending at the breathtaking Victoria Falls. The route, which is made up of a combination of dirt, tar and sandy roads over various terrains, takes participants from Lusaka to Livingstone in just seven days.

Manfrotto, as the key sponsor of the event, will help enable those cyclists to see the incredible work being carried out by the charity and celebrate that achievement back home.

African Revival works in Zambia, Uganda and Sudan with a vision to give children access to education, opportunity and choice. The charity builds schools, provides training and support for teachers, overcomes barriers to education and enhances performance in the classroom.

An educated community will be able to make better decisions. African Revival supports schools in rural communities in the hope of increasing economic earning power, reducing infant mortality rates, lowering HIV infection rates, while contributing to sustainable development.

Yet tens of millions of children in sub-Saharan Africa are not in school - and 80% of those children live in rural areas. By offering education, opportunity and choice to Africa's children we aim to break the cycle of poverty that restricts Africa's development.

African Revival works in partnership with rural communities who, despite having very little themselves, are committed to giving their children a bright future. Working with schools over a three to five year period, the organization aim to turn desperately under resourced schools into thriving centres of learning, to serve the children of today and for generations to come.
