MXNet 1G Decoder/Receiving Device

Series: MXNet

Model: AC-MXNET-1G-D

  • JPEG 2000 –
  • JPEG 2000 is the obvious and essential video encoding choice when picture quality is critical.
  • JPEG 2000 supports progressive decoding and delivers both lossy and lossless compression within a code stream.
  • JPEG 2000 supports GEN LOCK so that the frames of a video source are synced to all Decoders resulting in tear-free video walls.
  • JPEG 2000 enables the handling of color-space information, 10bit color, and it supports interactivity in networked applications.

The MXnet Decoder/Receiver device is where the signal arrives. Connect this to any HDMI display device, and it will decode and receive the incoming audio/video signal changing it back to an image or picture. This device connects directly via category wires (CAT 5e or better) or fiber optics to the MXnet Switch (AC-MXNET-SW48) or any other compatible multicast-capable managed L3 network switch. The AC-MXNET-1G-D is a part of the MXnet family of AV-over-IP products from AVPro Edge.

The AC-MXNET-1G-D will Decode a full 4K 4:2:0 30Hz HDMI video signal – along with audio, control, and power. These signals are routed and passed from a single Encoder source via multicast routing through an MXnet or multicast compatible L3 managed network switch. And it does all this with next to zero latency. MXnet Decoders decode IP packets to visually lossless audio/video signals.

The AC-MXNET-1G-D Decoder is only one part of the MXnet Ecosystem that includes Encoders, Network Switches, Control Processors, and other various components designed to facilitate the building of a custom A/V distribution system. MXnet’s Ecosystem includes formatting such as resolution scaling, full EDID management, and multifaceted video walls. It includes the MXnet MENTOR setup and control tool - making installations easy on the integrator while also presenting a major WOW factor for your client.

The treatment has been third-party tested against:

•UL94

•Vibration

•Salt spray

•Meets Military Grade spec

•IP67/68

•Exceeds water general hardness harm

•ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials G-1 rated

•RoHS Compliant (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)

•Ensure you install the AVPro Edge tools that resist harsh, severe conditions and simply continue to keep working.

  • Data Window –
  • This is a built-in mini OLED screen mounted to every single Encoder unit, displaying critical information that makes set up and troubleshooting a much easier task.
  • The Data Window displays the IP address and the MAC address, or you can modify the name using MXnet Mentor to display custom names such as LG-OLED-TV, WEST-BAR-12, TW-PROJ-3, etc.
  • You have up to 12 characters available to use for your custom name.
  • Full External Light Control –
  • Our integrators pride themselves on their work, so don’t let a small blue, green, red, or yellow light ruin your perfectly engineered viewing room.
  • When you install an Encoder in a discreet location, you have the option to turn off ALL the lights on the device - including network link lights - as well as the Data Window OLED light.
  • This allows you to install the Encoder, and once you know everything is working, you can eliminate any light outputted from the device.
  • This way, the end-user will never even know it’s there.
  • Control Signal Routing –
  • Both RS-232 and IR signals can be direct routed to the AC-MXNET-1G-D Decoder.
  • When you route these signals through a network switch, you can specify an Encoder from which to send these control signals.
  • USB and KVM Support –
  • Each Decoder unit has two USB ports.
  • You may also connect a USB hub if needed to expand the number of USB ports.
  • Connect and route any USB signals back to the Encoder Host.
  • Use the MXnet Mentor software to specify the Host Encoder, and the upstream USB device connected the selected Decoder.
  • Netgear Support –
  • MXnet’s engineers have worked together with Netgear to ensure their switches work with our line of encoders and decoders.
  • To make installing MXnet with Netgear switches even easier, Netgear has developed an “AVPro Edge Profile.”
  • Once this is loaded, your switch will work seamlessly with the AVPro Edge encoder and decoders.
