JVC COLLECTS THREE AWARDS FOR 3D PRODUCTS AT NAB 2010

WAYNE, NJ (April 29, 2010) — JVC Professional Products, a division of JVC U.S.A., was recognized with awards from three leading industry magazines at the 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas, NV, earlier this month. The new IF-2D3D1 Stereoscopic Image Processor was recognized by TV Technology with a prestigious STAR Award, and Videography gave it the Best of Show Vidy 2010 Award. In addition, Broadcast Engineering selected the GD-463D10 Professional 46-inch 3D Display Monitor as a Pick Hit winner for 2010.

“3D was one of the hot topics at NAB this year, so we were very pleased that a number of important industry magazines honored our 3D products,” said Dave Walton, assistant vice president of marketing and communications. “Our new IF-2D3D1 promises to be an important tool for 3D content creators, and our GD-463D10 has quickly become the de facto standard for professional 3D monitoring.”
Housed in a rugged, 1RU metal cabinet and compatible with a wide range of HD formats, the IF-2D3D1 helps improve 3D workflow, whether converting archived 2D material or shooting original content in 3D. It uses unique JVC algorithms to convert 2D content to 3D in real time during a live production or in post production. On location, the IF-2D3D1 can be coupled with a 3D capable monitor to provide real-time 3D monitoring.
The GD-463D10 is a 46-inch HD LCD monitor (1920x1080) that delivers high quality images for production, scientific, medical, and simulation environments. Its Xpol polarizing filter requires only passive 3D glasses to create a stable, flicker-free visual experience.
Engineers, editors, and production and post-production professionals join the Videography staff to judge the Best of Show Vidy Awards, which recognize outstanding achievement in the advancement of the art and science of video technology. The STAR Awards are awarded to technically innovative products and services that are nominated by TV Technology editors and columnists. A panel of independent judges determine the Pick Hits, which are selected based on several criteria, including the technical and financial improvements a product can bring to a facility’s operation.
